Account details: your name and email address, and the identifier returned by Google if you sign in with Google.

Content you upload: your résumé file and anything you type into the editor.

Generated content: the portfolio drafts and PDFs produced from your input.

Purchase records: what you bought and when. Card details are handled by Paddle and never reach our servers.

Technical data: IP address, browser type and error reports, used to keep the service running.

To generate and store your portfolio, to take payment and handle refunds, to answer your support requests, and to detect and fix faults.

Our legal basis is performance of our contract with you for the service itself, and our legitimate interest in a secure and working product for technical data.

Paddle, as Merchant of Record, to take payment and process refunds.

OpenAI, to generate portfolio drafts from the text you provide. Your content is not used to train their models.

Amazon Web Services, for file storage and hosting.

Error and analytics providers, to diagnose faults.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Our servers are in the Asia Pacific (Seoul) region. Some processors listed above operate outside your country. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or the EEA, we rely on the appropriate safeguards required by law.

Uploaded files and generated portfolios are kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of you closing it.

Transaction records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Email son@careernote.io and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the UK or the EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. Any non-essential cookie is set only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
